UP: Eight killed in car accident in Varanasi

Lucknow, Oct 4: A car accident occurred in Varanasi’s Karkhiyav, Uttar Pradesh, around 7 am on Wednesday morning, resulting in the loss of eight lives and causing injuries to one minor.

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, conveyed his condolences for the fatalities and instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive appropriate medical care.

According to a release from the Chief Minister’s office, CM Yogi directed the district administration authorities to promptly transport the injured individuals to the hospital and ensure they receive adequate medical attention.

“He (the CM) also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the release read.

Sources reported that the accident occurred when a fast-moving car collided with a truck.

Sources conveyed that the tragic accident left only a three-year-old child as the sole survivor.

The child has been admitted to the district hospital for medical care.

Upon being informed about the accident, the police promptly arrived at the scene, and subsequently, all the bodies were transported to the hospital for postmortem examinations.
