Tel Aviv, Oct 12: The Israel Defence Forces reported a successful operation in which they targeted a high-ranking Hamas naval forces figure named Mohammed Abu Shamala during a series of nighttime airstrikes throughout the Gaza Strip, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The Israel Defence Forces targeted his residence, which was being utilized to store naval weaponry intended for potential attacks against Israel.
During the night, IDF fighter jets conducted airstrikes throughout the Gaza Strip, focusing on the Nakhba, a specialized combat unit within Hamas that played a leading role in the large-scale incursion from the Strip on Saturday, reported The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.
As per the Israel Air Force, the “Nakhba” unit comprises militants handpicked by senior Hamas leaders with the objective of executing various terrorist activities, including ambushes, raids, acts of sabotage, anti-tank and rocket attacks, sniping, camouflage and tunnel infiltration.
The Israeli military targeted multiple command centres that Hamas used to coordinate the terrorist incursions into Israeli territory.
Furthermore, the Israeli Air Force posted on the social media platform ‘X,’ stating that on Thursday, they initiated a series of “tree attacks” to persist in weakening Hamas’s commando forces. These attacks were directed at the operational centres utilized by Hamas operatives.
