Jamshedpur, Oct 30: The winter chill has set in over Jharkhand.
Weathermen today said that currently, the minimum temperature in Ranchi was hovering around 15 degrees Celsius.
Elsewhere, in the state, the minimum temperature was fluctuating between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius.
Usually, the weather office declares the complete onset of winter in the state, with the night temperature plunging below 13°C.
The nip in the air due to favourable wind patterns has brought down the temperature of many districts, thereby forcing many to bring out their warm clothes.
“Dry north-westerly winds are blowing across Jharkhand. This has resulted in plummeting temperatures, ” said a duty officer at Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Kanke, in the outskirts of Ranchi, recorded a minimum temperature of below 15°C today, which is two notches below the normal.
Weathermen both at IMD’s Ranchi and Patna Met Centre held the crisp dry winds responsible for the nip in the air.
Dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 hours. The highest maximum temperature 33.4°C was recorded at Daltonganj while the lowest minimum temperature of 14.9°C was recorded at Garhwa.
