Toll-Free Number Launched to Combat Human Trafficking in Simdega

Simdega police have introduced a toll-free number to curb rising cases of human trafficking, enabling victims to report incidents and seek police action.

Ranchi/Simdega: In a significant move to address the increasing incidents of human trafficking, Simdega police have launched a toll-free number, 1800 3 456256. The district has been identified as highly vulnerable to human trafficking, where many boys and girls are lured with promises of employment and better wages, only to face exploitation.

Simdega police informed the Inspector General (IG) Provision about this initiative, highlighting the rising complaints of trafficking under the guise of job offers. To prevent such cases, the newly launched toll-free number will allow victims or anyone aware of such activities to report them, enabling the police to take swift action.

The initiative aims to curb the exploitation of locals who are taken outside the district and subjected to various forms of abuse. By calling the toll-free number, victims can seek immediate assistance, ensuring timely intervention by the authorities.
