Ranchi: In a shocking incident, a doctor from Ranchi’s premier hospital RIMS jumped off the roof of Hostel No. 4 last night. According to reports, Doctor Akash, a second-year PG student, along with a woman, leapt from the third floor of the hostel. Tragically, Doctor Akash succumbed to his injuries, while the woman remains in critical condition. The Baraittu police are investigating the matter.

Doctors Rushed to the Emergency

Upon hearing of the incident, other junior doctors in the hostel immediately rushed both individuals to the emergency trauma center. Doctor Akash, in critical condition, was given CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) before being moved to the Critical Care Unit on the third floor. Despite efforts to save him, Akash passed away. The woman, Pallavi, is undergoing treatment, and after an MRI scan, doctors have declared her out of danger.

Woman Not From RIMS, Say Junior Doctors

According to junior doctors, the woman who jumped with Akash was not a part of RIMS. However, no one could provide any specific information about her. It was revealed that Akash and Pallavi had been in a relationship for some time.

Chaos Among Junior Doctors Late Into the Night

The incident caused a stir among junior doctors around 10:30 PM, with many rushing to the emergency trauma center. After news of Akash’s death spread, a large number of medical staff gathered on the third floor of the emergency unit. While junior doctors were present, no senior officials from RIMS arrived at the scene. The Baraittu police team remained on-site until late at night, investigating the matter.

Woman Unaware of Akash’s Death, Continues Calling Out His Name

During treatment, Pallavi was calling out for Akash from her bed, unaware that he had passed away. She was informed of his critical condition but not of his death. Her treatment continued late into the night, and she was found to have a dislocated shoulder.
