Ranchi: BJP spokesperson Rafia Naaz has accused the Jharkhand government of prioritizing extravagant tourism events over the basic needs of the common people. She criticized the state for spending huge amounts on activities that are inaccessible to the general public instead of addressing essential public welfare issues.
Questions Over Expensive Tourism Events
Naaz specifically questioned the Skydiving Festival – 2025, calling it a high-cost event that remains out of reach for the common people. She highlighted that the cost of participation per person is ₹28,000, making it unaffordable for the majority of the population. She argued that such initiatives do not benefit the general public and reflect misplaced priorities of the government.
Misplaced Government Priorities
Rafia Naaz further stated that the government’s focus is entirely misplaced. Instead of investing in expensive tourism events, she urged the administration to:
• Improve basic facilities in schools for children.
• Introduce pension schemes for widows to support their livelihood.
• Ensure timely salary payments for government employees whose wages have been pending.
She emphasized that public welfare should be the top priority of the government, urging authorities to redirect resources towards real developmental needs rather than luxurious tourism ventures.
