Ranchi: In a significant development, the Supreme Court on Thursday granted bail to JMM leader Antu Tirkey, along with Irfshad Akhtar, Afsar Ali, and Mohammad Irshad, all accused in the high-profile land scam case. The apex court’s decision brings major relief to the accused, who will now be released from jail.

Earlier Bail Denials at Lower Courts

The accused had earlier approached both the PMLA Special Court in Ranchi and the Jharkhand High Court, seeking bail under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. However, both courts had rejected their petitions, citing the seriousness of the allegations.

Following the repeated rejections, the accused then approached the Supreme Court, which finally granted them bail.

With the top court’s order, all four accused are expected to walk out of jail soon.
