Ranchi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge paid their final respects to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren at his funeral in Nemra on Tuesday. Due to inclement weather, the two leaders had to travel by road from Ranchi instead of by helicopter.
Earlier, both leaders were received at Ranchi Airport by Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, legislature party leader Pradeep Yadav, former MP Furkan Ansari, former JPCC chief Rajesh Thakur, Ravindra Singh, Jaishankar Pathak, Shamsher Alam, Ashok Chaudhary, Satish Paul Mujni, Kumar Raja, Riaz Ansari, and Kedar Paswan.
Rahul Gandhi is also expected to appear before the Chaibasa MP-MLA court on Wednesday in connection with a case involving allegedly objectionable remarks made against the BJP.
