Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday heard extensive arguments on a petition seeking a CBI probe into the alleged paper leak in the JSSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination. During the hearing, counsel for the state government and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) argued that the evidence presented — photos said to show the leaked paper — were taken on the day after the exam, not before or during it.

Court Keeps Stay On Results

The bench, comprising Chief Justice and Justice Rajesh Shankar, was informed that the CGL exam took place on the 22nd of the month, while the images submitted were dated the 23rd, undermining claims of a leak. After hearing submissions from both sides, the court ordered that arguments continue on Wednesday and maintained its interim stay on the publication of results until the next hearing.

Legal Teams Present Their Case

Appearing for the state, Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan and lawyer Piyush Chitresh defended the government’s stance, while advocate Sanjoy Pipperwal represented the JSSC. Senior advocate Ajit Kumar appeared on behalf of the petitioners. The court will now decide whether further investigation, including a CBI probe, is warranted once arguments conclude.
