Gorakhpur: BJP MP and Bhojpuri film actor Ravi Kishan has received a death threat over the phone from a man claiming to be Ajay Kumar Yadav, a resident of Jauhnia village in Bihar’s Ara district. The caller allegedly abused the MP’s personal secretary and warned that if Ravi Kishan visited Bihar within four days, he would be shot dead. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
What Triggered the Threat
The incident comes amid a heated controversy in the Bhojpuri film industry following Ravi Kishan’s remarks about RJD candidate and actor Khesari Lal Yadav during the Bihar election campaign. The accused allegedly took offense to these comments and called the MP’s secretary, Shivam Dwivedi, issuing violent threats and using abusive language.
During the call, the man reportedly said he intended to target Ravi Kishan because of his alleged “remarks against the Yadav community.” He claimed to have detailed information about the MP’s whereabouts and swore to kill him, even if it meant facing the death penalty.
Religious and Linguistic Abuse in the Call
The accused also supported Khesari Lal Yadav’s statements and made derogatory remarks about Lord Ram and the Ram Temple, according to the complaint. He further claimed to possess a video related to the issue and threatened to release it publicly.
Police Complaint and Security Measures
Following the threat, Ravi Kishan’s personal secretary Shivam Dwivedi and PRO Pawan Dubey met Gorakhpur SSPand submitted a written complaint demanding strong legal action and enhanced security for the MP. Police have taken the matter seriously and begun tracing the caller’s identity and location.
