Bihar: The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections witnessed a robust voter turnout, with 53.77% polling recorded till 3 PM across 121 constituencies in 18 districts. Voting began at 7 AM and is continuing peacefully, according to the Election Commission of India.
District-Wise Voter Turnout Highlights
Among all districts, Begusarai registered the highest turnout at 59.82%, while Patna recorded the lowest at 48.69%. Other key regions saw strong participation — Muzaffarpur (58.40%), Gopalganj (58.17%), Samastipur (56.35%), and Lakhisarai (57.39%). Districts such as Darbhanga (51.76%), Nalanda (52.32%), and Sheikhpura (49.37%) reflected moderate turnout levels.
Earlier updates showed progressive participation throughout the day — 13.13% by 9 AM, 27.65% by 11 AM, and 42.31% by 1 PM, signaling growing voter enthusiasm as polling continued.
