Ranchi: Just as Jharkhand residents were preparing to bid farewell to winter, a sudden dip in temperatures has brought the chill back. Over the past week, unexpected weather changes have puzzled people, with cold winds returning in the early mornings and evenings. The noticeable drop has prompted many to pull out warm clothes once again.

Gumla Coldest in Past 24 Hours

In the last 24 hours, several areas including Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, and Latehar experienced increased chill. Recently, the minimum temperature had climbed above 10–11°C, but now it has dipped below 10°C in many districts. Gumla recorded the lowest temperature at 9.4°C, making it the coldest in the state.

Today’s Weather Forecast

According to the Meteorological Department, north-western districts of Jharkhand — including Palamu, Koderma, Garhwa, Latehar, and Lohardaga — are expected to witness minimum temperatures around 8°C and maximum around 26°C on Friday.

Ranchi, Hazaribagh, and Ramgarh may see minimum temperatures between 9°C and 10°C, resulting in increased chill during morning and evening hours. The department has advised elderly citizens and children to take precautions against the cold.
