Ranchi: In view of the upcoming Holi celebrations on March 4, Indian Railways has announced five special trains to manage the festive rush. Three of these will depart from Ranchi, while two will operate from Tatanagar.

From Ranchi, the special trains will run on the following routes:

  • Ranchi–Gorakhpur–Ranchi

  • Ranchi–Ajmer–Ranchi

  • Ranchi–Jaynagar–Ranchi

From Tatanagar, two special trains have been planned:

  • Tatanagar–Kishanganj–Tatanagar

  • Tatanagar–Buxar–Tatanagar

Railway officials stated that these additional trains aim to ease congestion for travelers from Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. They also mentioned that if demand continues to rise, more special trains may be introduced.

Holi season typically witnesses a massive increase in travel as migrant workers, students, and professionals return to their hometowns. Rail authorities are monitoring the situation closely and are ready to implement further arrangements as needed.
