Ranveer Singh plays Jaskeerat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari, a fierce operative driven by revenge and duty. Set against the backdrop of the 1990s, the narrative draws inspiration from major incidents like the Kandahar hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 2008 Mumbai attacks, adding depth and realism to the storyline.
Box Office Performance and Records
According to trade reports, the film earned around ₹17.80 crore on its 15th day in India. Its India net collection stands at approximately ₹937.32 crore, while the gross collection has reached ₹1,122.17 crore. The total worldwide collection has now reached approximately ₹1,492 crore, placing it among the biggest hits of the year. While its 15-day performance is strong, it trails behind the first installment of the franchise, which earned ₹22.50 crore on the same day, but surpasses films like Pushpa 2 and Baahubali 2 in comparative metrics.
Strong Characters and Spy Drama Appeal
The film features a gripping narrative with multiple characters inspired by real-life figures. Veteran actor Sanjay Dutt plays a role reportedly inspired by a Pakistani police officer, while the storyline also includes a double-agent arc involving covert missions across borders. These elements have contributed significantly to the film’s widespread appeal and sustained box office dominance.
