Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday heard the suo motu public interest litigation registered in the encounter death of gangster Aman Saw, with the state government submitting the CID case diary in a sealed envelope along with the forensic report and related investigation documents. The court has fixed the next hearing date three weeks from now.
Petitioner’s Lawyer Raises Procedural Concerns
During the hearing, petitioner’s advocate Hemant Sikarwar informed the court that there should have been two separate cases registered in the matter, arguing that a single investigation cannot cover two distinct cases. He pointed out that only one FIR has been registered by the police and that the online FIR filed by the deceased’s mother has not been registered to date.
Mother Had Sought CBI Probe
The case came before the High Court following a request by Aman Saw’s mother Kiran Devi for a CBI investigation into the encounter, on which the court took suo motu cognisance. The submission of the CID case diary and forensic documents marks a significant step in the court-monitored proceedings.
