New Delhi: Nisarg Adhikari, the 19-year-old who wrote a widely discussed blog exposing critical cybersecurity vulnerabilities in CBSE’s On-Screen Marking portal, has landed a job at IIT Kanpur’s Technology Innovation Hub C3iHub as an Open-Source Intelligence and Threat Intelligence Engineer.
IIT Kanpur Director Personally Reached Out
IIT Kanpur Director Professor Manindra Agrawal said he read Nisarg’s blog published on May 22 and was struck by his extraordinary talent. He personally reached out to Nisarg and offered him the position, noting that Nisarg is one of the youngest engineers to be appointed at IIT Kanpur. The director also pointed out that IIT Kanpur has previously provided opportunities to young talented individuals in its cybersecurity team.
What Nisarg’s Blog Revealed
In his blog, Nisarg had exposed multiple serious security flaws in the CBSE On-Screen Marking portal, highlighting vulnerabilities that could potentially be exploited to compromise the system’s security. He had responsibly disclosed all the identified flaws to India’s national cybersecurity agency CERT-In on February 25, well before his blog brought the issue to wider public attention.
