NITI Aayog’s 11th Governing Council Meeting Begins Under PM Modi, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Attends

New Delhi: The 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog commenced in Delhi on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, bringing together Chief Ministers and Governors of all states and Union Territories, Union Ministers, and senior NITI Aayog officials.

Three CMs Attend for the First Time

Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar, West Bengal CM Shubhendu Adhikari, and Tamil Nadu CM Vijay attended the Governing Council meeting for the first time. Besides BJP-ruled Chief Ministers, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also participated in the meeting.

Key Issues on the Agenda

The meeting is focused on deliberating over human development, employment, skill development, health, nutrition, equal opportunities, and digital governance, among other issues. The primary goal of the meeting is to chart the path towards achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, with an emphasis on formulating an inclusive human development strategy that reaches every citizen of the country.

This Year’s Theme

The theme of this year’s NITI Aayog meeting is Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat at 2047, aimed at ensuring that the benefits of development reach every Indian regardless of age, region, gender, or socio-economic background by the year 2047.
