Ranchi: Protesting students have announced their delegation for talks with the government over the JPSC examination irregularities issue, comprising eight student representatives, along with two journalist representatives and one legal expert who will accompany the delegation in an advisory and guardian capacity.

Only Student Representatives to Present Demands During Talks

During the negotiations, only the student delegation will present all issues, facts and demands, while the accompanying journalists and legal expert will not participate in any discussion, statement or presentation of facts. All media-affiliated members accompanying the delegation have been instructed not to carry any microphones, cameras, recording devices or sound systems inside the venue.

Full List of Delegation Members

The eight student representatives are Ravindra Paswan, Piyush Kumar Singh, Ravindra Kumar Ravi, Rajesh Prasad, Neetu Kujur, Kartik Soren, Sandeep Kumar and Shalu Singh. The two journalist representatives accompanying them as guardians are Shambhunath Chaudhary and Vikas Verma, while the legal expert present in the same capacity is Ajit Kumar.

Government’s Earlier Outreach and Formation of Ministerial Committee

Notably, on Wednesday, Ranchi’s SDO and ADM had visited the protest site on behalf of the government to speak with the students. Following the discussion, students were invited to meet the Chief Minister directly, but they declined to visit the CM’s residence. The government subsequently announced a four-member ministerial committee for talks, and today the students formally announced their own delegation for the negotiations.

Opposition Stages Protest Ahead of Monsoon Session

Meanwhile, ahead of the start of the Monsoon Session today, opposition parties BJP and JDU staged a protest at the Assembly gate, raising slogans and signalling that students’ interests would be a key focus during the session. Both the ruling party and the opposition have prepared to raise the issue in their own respective ways during the proceedings.
