Ranchi: Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee media in-charge Rakesh Sinha declared the BJP-called Jharkhand bandh a complete flop, alleging that the party was attempting to give a political colour to the ongoing student protest movement.
Sinha Says Public Rejected BJP’s Bandh
Sinha said that on Monday, students had already exposed BJP’s political intentions, and on Tuesday, the public further rejected the party’s bandh call, alleging that while BJP claimed to be concerned about students’ futures, its real objective was to seek political gain from the situation.
Sinha Questions BJP’s Silence During Earlier Protests
He said BJP and Babulal Marandi should explain where the party stood when students were originally protesting for their rights and employment, questioning why the party was suddenly politicising the issue now.
BJP Accused of Opportunistic Politics
Sinha alleged that BJP had initially been searching for political ground within the student movement and was now using the same issue to call a bandh and inconvenience the public, describing it as opportunistic politics.
Congress Reaffirms Support for Students’ Demands
Sinha said the Congress party stood firmly with the students and would continue to support their fight for rights, employment and fair recruitment processes, asserting that BJP would not be allowed to politicise the students’ cause. He added that the failure of the Jharkhand bandh had sent a clear message to BJP that the public understood its political motives and would not be swayed by them.
