Ranchi: Railways have altered the route of the Banaras-Ranchi Express following the derailment of a goods train on the Garhwa Road-Sigsigi line, with the decision taken as a safety precaution after the freight train went off the tracks.

New Route Announced for Train Number 18612

According to information released by the railways, train number 18612 Banaras-Ranchi Express will now travel via the altered route of Son Nagar-Gaya-Gomoh-Muri, instead of its originally scheduled path through Son Nagar-Garhwa Road-Barkakana. Railways have advised passengers to stay alert in light of this sudden change to avoid any inconvenience.

Technical Team Working to Restore Track

Railway technical teams are currently engaged in relief operations at the derailment site and are working to restore the track as quickly as possible. Passengers have been urged to check the train’s running status through the 139 helpline number or the railway app before heading to the station.
