Ranchi: The monsoon is once again gaining strength across Jharkhand, with rain and cloudy conditions expected in several parts of the state on Monday, as the weather department issued warnings for heavy rainfall in multiple districts on August 17 and 18.
Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Warnings for Multiple Districts
According to the weather department, districts including Khunti, Ranchi, East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur), West Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Dumka, Latehar, Gumla, Simdega, Lohardaga and Chatra could experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, with wind speeds potentially reaching up to 50 kilometres per hour during this period.
Pleasant Weather Expected in Several Districts
Rain and cloud cover are expected to bring relief in temperatures across Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Simdega, West Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan, with relatively pleasant weather anticipated in these areas.
Some Relief Expected After August 19, but Rain to Continue
According to the weather department, the intensity of rainfall may reduce somewhat after August 18-19, though thundershowers are expected to continue in several areas. Light or scattered rain is likely at some locations on August 20.
Rain and Thunderstorms Likely in Ranchi, Deoghar and Other Cities
Rainfall is expected to continue affecting the state until August 21, with IMD forecasting rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Dumka, Hazaribagh, Palamu, Ramgarh, Khunti, Simdega and Deoghar as well.
Department Advises Caution During Bad Weather
The weather department has advised people to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions, recommending that they avoid stepping out unless necessary. It has also advised people to stay away from open fields, trees, electric poles and other unsafe locations during lightning strikes.
