Hyderabad: A special NIA court has sentenced nine people, including eight Bangladeshi nationals, to life imprisonment in a human trafficking case, also imposing a fine of Rs 1.37 lakh on the convicts. All nine had been arrested by Telangana Police back in 2019.

Women Rescued from Brothel Led to the Case

According to reports, Telangana Police had recovered three Bangladeshi women from a brothel in Jalpally village and another woman from Mahmood Colony in Balapur in September 2019. The investigation was later handed over to the NIA, which carried out raids across different parts of Telangana and West Bengal, arresting nine people in connection with the case — eight of them Bangladeshi nationals.

Nine Convicts Named in the Verdict

Those sentenced to life imprisonment by the special NIA court include Rahul Amin Dhali, Mohammad Yusuf Khan alias Imran, Biti Begum alias Khadija Sheikh, Imamul Gazi, Mohammad Al Mamun, Sojib Sheikh, Suresh Kumar Das alias Sagar, Mohammad Abdullah Munshi and Mohammad Ayub Sheikh.
