Ranchi: Jharkhand’s weather remained unsettled on Sunday, with the meteorological department forecasting cloudy skies and light to moderate rain across several parts of the state, along with the possibility of thunder and lightning in some areas.
Alert for Thunderstorm and Strong Winds on September 27
The weather department has issued a warning for lightning, thunder and winds of 30-40 kmph across the state on September 27, advising people to avoid open spaces during lightning activity.
Central and Southern Districts Likely to Bear the Brunt
Rain and thunder are expected in several districts of central Jharkhand, including Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Koderma and Dhanbad. Southern Jharkhand is also likely to see rain, with thundershowers and strong winds possible in East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega and Saraikela-Kharsawan. Thunderstorm activity is expected in Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra and Latehar as well, while parts of Deoghar, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur and Sahibganj may also witness rain.
No Major Weather Warning After September 28, Temperatures Likely to Rise
According to the department, no significant weather warning is expected in the state from September 28 onward, though light rain and thunder may continue intermittently at some places between September 28 and October 2. Maximum temperatures across the state are likely to rise gradually over the coming days, with the heat expected to pick up again once the rain subsides.
