New Delhi: Addressing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha held to mark his 25 years in public life, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India must fulfil the goal of becoming a self-reliant nation and a developed country by 2047, raising the slogan “Hum karke rahenge… We Will Do It,” which the gathering repeated with him.
“The Public Is God to Me”
Modi said that for him, the people are the embodiment of God, and that the trust of crores of countrymen and the tireless work of lakhs of party workers have been his greatest strength. He said the country has given him a great deal, which is why his responsibility towards it is the greatest. He added that he sincerely believes every citizen has the first claim on him, and that 25 years of public trust and experience are a very large asset. Reflecting on his journey, he said the more he learns, the more his ability to contribute to the country grows, and that looking back, he feels only deep gratitude.
Indian Pilots in Global Spotlight, Made-in-India Aircraft Next
The Prime Minister said Indian pilots are being talked about across the world today, and that a day will come when the world will also talk about Made-in-India aircraft. He pointed towards the brave Indian pilot Smit Machhar while saying this.
Earlier Marked the Milestone with Prayers
Earlier in the day, Modi offered prayers at the Shri Vinayak Temple in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi. He first became Gujarat’s Chief Minister on October 7, 2001. On Tuesday, the Union Cabinet passed a resolution congratulating him on completing 25 continuous years as head of government.
