New Delhi: Supreme Court judge Justice V. Mohana has recused himself from hearing the public interest litigation on the JPSC-JSSC recruitment scam, and the case will no longer be listed before any bench that includes him.

Recusal Followed Notice to Respondents

A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana had ordered notices to be issued to the respondents during the hearing, after which Justice Mohana stepped away from the matter. He is reported to have appeared for the Jharkhand government in several cases during his time as an advocate in the Supreme Court, and chose to recuse himself in view of this.

Petition Seeks CBI Probe

Harisharan Devgan has filed the PIL seeking a CBI investigation into the JPSC-JSSC recruitment scam. The Jharkhand government, JPSC, JSSC, CID and CBI have been made respondents in the petition.
