Alert for Next 12 Hours, High Waves Likely
According to the weather department, heavy rain and strong winds may continue in southern coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next 12 hours. The IMD has warned of storm surge waves about 1 to 1.5 metres above normal tide, which could cause seawater ingress and waterlogging in low-lying areas of the region. The storm’s impact is, however, expected to weaken gradually.
