Ranchi, Aug.25:  A division bench of the Jharkhand High Court comprising Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujeet Narayan Prasad did not give any relief to petitioners challenging the single bench order on the cut-off date for calculation of age for the 7th JPSC examination.

The petitioners, who all were administrative job aspirants in the Jharkhand government, had knocked on the door of the division bench saying a new cut off date (August 1, 2016), will deprive thousands of candidates of appearing in the recruitment test and demanded to maintain old cut off date (August 1, 2011) of age calculation for JPSC examination.

The petitioner was of the opinion that the JPSC did not organise recruitment tests from 2017 to 2020 and those preparing for the examination during these three years will be deprived of appearing in the recruitment test if the new cut-off date will exist. They were of the opinion that initially the JPSC had also declared the cut-off date as August 1, 2011 but later withdrew it and published a new advertisement with a new cut-off date.
