Ranchi, Aug.25: Police remained clueless in the double murder case of Gumla.

An agriculture scientist from Karnataka, Lokesh Putta Swamy (50), and a fishery expert from Andhra Pradesh, Madila Devadasu (51), were killed in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday by a sharp-edged weapon in a banana orchard near an old petrol pump in Ghaghra block headquarters under Ghaghra police station area of Gumla district.

A police official informing about cluelessness said in order to find a clue, a police team comprising SDPO Manish Chandra Lal, inspector S.N.Mandal, sub-inspector Kaushlendra Kumar, assistant sub-inspector Shiv Shankar Rai and Ishak Ansari visited the spot and talked to people associated with the scientists.

The team visited ponds demarcated for fishery and different plots for banana cultivation and residence of scientists and did minute observation but nothing concrete could be found so far.

Inspector S.N.Mandal confirmed the failure saying so far information about the loan taken by the scientists has come to the fore. “They were respected. We came to know that the duo had taken a loan of about Rs 30 lakh from the market. Except this, we could not collect any information regarding them,” Mandal said.

A locality resident said so far none of the family members of the deceased have turned to claim the body and the body is kept after autopsy.
