Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 13th BRICS Summit on Thursday in a virtual format, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Russian President Valdimir Putin, Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Chinese President Xi Jinping will be attending the meeting.
The theme for the Summit is ‘BRICS@ 15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus’
This is the second time after the Goa Summit in 2016 that Prime Minister Modi will be chairing the BRICS Summit. It coincides with the 15th anniversary of BRICS, as reflected in the theme of the BRICS.
The meeting will also be attended by India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, President of the New Development Bank Marcos Troyjo, the pro tempore chair of the BRICS Business Council, Onkar Kanwar and pro tempore chair of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance, Sangita Reddy.
