Ranchi, Sept. 10: JMM chief and Rajya Sabha member Shibu Soren, accompanied by his son and chief minister Hemant Soren, today garlanded the life size statue of his elder son and former Jama MLA Durga Soren on the latter’s 53rd birth anniversary in a programme organised at Lowadih in Namkum.
JMM Mahila Morcha president Chintamani Sanga had organised a blood donation camp on the occasion.
Addressing the audience at the venue, chief minister Soren said that all round development of Jharkhand is possible only following the footprint of his elder brother Durga Soren. He said that he is making an attempt to work for the cause of people with the blessings of his father and is committed to ensure that no one lives hungry in the state.
Chief minister Soren said that the area named after his brother will be beautified.
Prominent figures present on the occasion included state minister Mithilesh Thakur, Littipara MLA Dinesh Marandi besides senior leaders.
