Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Prime Minister’s Digital Health Mission on Monday through video conferencing. PM Modi had announced the pilot project of the National Digital Health Mission from Red Fort on August 15, 2020. At present, the Pradhan Mantri Digital Health Mission (PM-DHM) is implemented in six Union Territories as a pilot project. Union Health Minister Mansukh Madaviya will be present on the occasion.
The nationwide launch of PM-DHM coincides with the National Health Authority (NHA) celebrating the third anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), PMO office said.
Based on the foundation laid in the form of Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile (JAM), the government’s digital initiative PM-DHM will be available as a seamless platform for the people to have access to detailed data, information and infrastructure facilities. In addition to this, full care has also been taken about the security, reliability and privacy of health-related information of the people. With the consent of the people, their documents can be viewed and shared.
The key feature of PM-DHM includes a health ID for everyone that will work as a health account of the citizens in which personal health records can be linked and viewed with a mobile application. Also a Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) and Healthcare Facilities Registries (HFR) will be there that will act as a repository of all healthcare providers across both modern and traditional systems of medicine.
