5 soldiers, including an army officer have been martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the information, a counter terrorist operation was going on in Pir Panjal range. During this, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and 4 jawans were martyred.
Here, in Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir also there was an encounter between terrorists and security forces on Monday morning. Defense PRO said, ‘On receipt of intelligence inputs, the security forces conducted a search operation in the villages adjacent to Dera ki Gali in Soorankot area of Poonch, during which there was an encounter between the terrorists and the security forces’.
A terrorist was killed in an encounter by security forces in Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir also. The slain terrorist has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar. He was associated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar said that ‘Dar was involved in the recent civilian killings at Shahgund in Bandipora’.
At the same time, there has been an encounter between security personnel and terrorists in Anantnag. In this, the security forces have killed a terrorist and a policeman was injured. Kashmir Zone Police said that the operation was going on till noon. Two terrorists are reported to be hiding here.
