The medical superintendent of RIMS formed a five-member inquiry committee and entrusted the investigation to the Dean of Student Welfare Council, Dr Hiren Birua. After submitting the report by the committee, on the instructions of RIMS Director Dr Kameshwar Prasad, the management has taken strict action against the 18 doctors.

As per the order issued by the Dean of Students Welfare, 18 designated medicos and doctors have been evicted from the hostel, 13 for a period of 3 months and 5 for a period of 1 year.

It has been said in the order that after the investigation of the events in the hostel premises of RIMS, the recommendation of the inquiry committee and action was directed by the director. After which doctors and students were expelled from their hostel for the stipulated time under disciplinary action.

It has been clearly instructed in the issued order itself that during the period of the expulsion of students, they should be deprived of hostel related facilities like canteen and mess etc. Also, these students will not be allowed to stay in the rooms of their classmates during this period.
