Jamshedpur, Nov 3: Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) which supplies power in areas outside the purview of Tata Steel command area will offer an on-call electrician facility to attend to faults immediately on Diwali tomorrow.
JBVNL’s Singhbhum electricity supply, which covers three districts of Kolhan – East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan – will introduce “electrician-on-call” service in command areas on the day of Diwali.
JBVNL has around 7.5 lakh consumers in Kolhan region.
A 24/7 control room will function at Adityapur and Karandih for attending emergency calls made by consumers.
The electrician-on-call service will be offered at all four power subdivisions of Jamshedpur — Karandih, Jugsalai, Govindpur and Mango.
Consumers seeking the services of an electrician for any faults or breakdowns in their personal line, can either call the control room or SDOs (sub-divisional officer) and JEs (junior engineer) of their respective areas.
JBVNL junior engineer Sanjay Mahto who looks after Mango, which has the largest consumer base said list of areas have been prepared where senior officials would constantly monitor power supply.
According to him, the general manager’s office would also constantly monitor so that corrective measures could be taken without delay.
