Daltonganj, Nov. 9: Deputy Director (North division) of the Palamu Tiger Reserve, Kumar Ashish, informed today that two leopard cubs were found at the cross junction of road number 3 and 5 in compartment 2 of the Betla National Park.

The cubs were not physically sighted but their images were recorded in the surveillance system on November 5 (Friday) at 17.54 hrs.

“It is great to find cubs of the leopards in the Betla National Park. They are healthy and playful. The mother leopard could be around as these two cubs would not have been so sporty and excited,” added Ashish.

He has advised tourists not to venture on foot in the jungles of the park.

Sources said that the PTR now abounds in leopards. Its kill and movement is now a daily feature in the tiger reserve.

Ashish went on to say that he has already installed a surveillance system at the park. They now require roughly 50 trap cameras to monitor every nook and corner of the site. He stated that sufficient funds are awaiting it.
