Bhupesh Baghel meets Priyanka Gandhi, likely to meet Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi, Nov 12: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday met All India Congress Committee (AICC) Uttar Pradesh Incharge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at 10 Janpath, the residence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi to discuss the polls strategy ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2022.

Bhupesh Baghel along with former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot, is expected to meet Sonia Gandhi ahead of Cabinet expansion in Rajasthan.

Notably, Baghel has been given the responsibility of the party’s senior observer for the Uttar Pradesh elections. He has been also given the task of coordinating with the organization and the election machinery of the party. The state of Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to hold an assembly election in 2022.

In the 2017 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP bagged 312 seats out of 403 seat Uttar Pradesh Assembly while SP bagged 47 seats and Congress could managed to win only 7 seats.
