Sabarimala temple to reopen from Nov 15 for Mandala-Makaravilakku

Sabarimala, Nov 14:  The Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple will open on Monday for the Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season. As Sabarimala reopens , the Kerala health minister Veena George said on Sunday that the department has made elaborate arrangements for pilgrims in order to combat the possible spread of COVID-19.

Sabarimala temple will be opened for Mandala-Makaravilakku, which last for two months, on Monday evening. However, public will be allowed from Tuesday. Amid the COVID restrictions, 30,000 devotees per day will be allowed to have darshan. Devotees will also have to produce a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing they’re fully vaccinated or show an RTPCR negative report not older than 72 hrs.
Health Minister said that all health services has been put in place by preparing an action plan in October.

“ The emergency medical centers and oxygen parlous are being set up at five places along the journey from Pamba to Sannidhanam. If pilgrims have any health problems , one should seek treatment at the nearest Centre immediately. Trained staff nurses and other medical facilities are available at these centres 24 hours a day”, said Veena George.
