Ranchi, Nov.15: All India SC/ST and OBC Employees Coordination Council has requested the National Schedule Caste Commission to cancel the 7th -10th Jharkhand Public Service Commission examination, pointing out irregularities in implementation of the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021.

The request has been made by Rajesh Kumar Das, President of Santhal Pargana unit of the All India SC/ST and OBC Employees Coordination Council, through a letter to the vice chairman of the commission, Arun Haldhar.

“In the preliminary test (PT), section 17(ii) of the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules 2021 provides selection of candidates 15 times more than the number to be selected finally. But in the PT held for 7th to 10th JPSC examination, 16.74 times more candidates were selected under unreserved category, 16.52 times more were selected under ST category, 17.68 more was selected under SC category, 18.77 more was selection was in BC-2 category and 20.05 times more was selected under BC-1 category,” the letter reads.

The letter further reads that “advertisement was published for 252 seats. In accordance with this number 3780 candidates were supposed to be selected in PT for mains examination but in violation of rule 4297 candidates were selected.”

The letter also points out that the result reflects that OBC and general candidates were benefitted while SC, SC and EWS candidates remained at loss.

“According to the constitutional provision of 26% reservation to ST, 1167 seats should be given to ST but they got only 1057. Similarly SC, who are entitled for 10% reservation, got 389 in place of 429 seats, EWS, entitled for 10% reservation, got 305 in place of 429, BC, entitled for 14% reservation, got 645 in place 601 and unreserved entitled for 1710 got 1897 seats. Physically challenged did not get any seat,” the letter further reads.
