Dubai, Nov 15: The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the best playing XI of the recently concluded T20 World Cup.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been made the captain of its team by the ICC. Babar played a big role in taking PAK to the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup. He also had the most runs in the tournament with his bat. He scored 303 runs in 6 matches at an average of 60.60 and with the strike rate of 126.25. Babar’s bat saw four 50+ scores in six matches.

For the T20 World Cup, Team India was being considered as the favorite to win the tournament, but the team disappointed everyone with its performance. As a result, no Indian player made the list.

The team was put together by a panel that included commentators, former players, and journalists, Ian Bishop (Convenor), Natalie Germanos, Shane Watson, Lawrence Booth of Wisden, the Daily Mail, and Mail on Sunday and Shahid Hashmi of Agence France Presse and ARY Channel.

“This team was incredibly difficult to select over such a highly competitive tournament. Selections were based predominantly on the Super 12 onward to the final,” said Ian Bishop, one of the members of the selection panel.

ICC T20 World Cup Team of the Tournament

David Warner (Australia)
Jos Buttler (wk) (England)
Babar Azam (Captain, Pakistan)

Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka)
Adam Zampa (Australia)
Josh Hazlewood (Australia)
