Jamshedpur, Nov 17: JMM activists led by its various legislators on Wednesday staged a blockade at Tata Steel, Tata Motors, and various Tata group companies in the steel city and other parts of Kolhan over various issues.

The JMM activists started assembling at the main gates of Tata Steel, Tata Motors and other companies before staging a blockade from 10 am.

The movement of raw materials and finished products was affected in different companies due to the blockade which was earlier announced by the party.

” We are not at all happy with the policies of Tata Steel and hence decided to show our solidarity, ” said Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren, who was leading the agitation at Tata Motors in Telco.

JMM legislators Mangal Kalindi, Savita Mahto and several other JMM leaders joined the agitation.

Apart from opposing the mining policy, the JMM also protested the decision of shifting the legal section of various Tata group companies to Pune.

Chakradharpur legislator Sukhram Oraon led the agitation at Tata Steel’s Noamundi and Ghatkuri mines in neighbouring West Singhbhum.

The agitation hampered the loading and unloading of iron-ore at all Tata Steel mines in West Singhbhum.

The agitation was continuing at the time of filing this report.
