India removes Singapore from list of ‘at risk’ nations

New Delhi, Dec 9:  India on Thursday has removed Singapore from its list of “at-risk” nations, travelers from where need to follow additional measures on arrival including post-arrival testing. Now, international passengers from the Singapore arriving in India will not need to follow additional Covid-19 testing and quarantine measures.

Now the current list of “at-risk” countries includes countries in Europe including the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, China, Ghana, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Hong Kong and Israel.

Earlier on Monday, India had added Ghana and Tanzania to the list of “at risk” countries, passengers from where have to follow additional COVID-19 testing and quarantine measures.

This development comes as the new variant of the coronavirus, Omicron has been reported in 57 countries.

Notably, new variant of COVID-19 was first reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) from South Africa on November 25. As per the WHO, the first known confirmed B.1.1.529 infection was from a specimen collected on November 9 this year.
