Mumbai, Dec.11: The trailer for the third installment of the “Fantastic Beast” franchise, dubbed “The Secrets of Dumbledore,” has been finally released. Prior to that, the producers led Potterheads down memory lane and released a teaser video. Clips from old Harry Potter films, plays, and Broadway productions appear in the video. It also includes excerpts from previous Fantastic Beasts films as well as new material from the next film. Fans will see actor Mads Mikkelsen for the first time in the film for the first time. He will take over as Grindelwald from Johnny Depp.
“Whether it’s on a page, a stage, or on a screen, it’s all part of one Wizarding World. Continue the adventure with the new trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Monday. #SecretsOfDumbledore,” reads the tagline of the video shared by Warners Bros.
Set decades before the adventures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, the prequel series follows magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), who becomes a confidant of a young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) amid the emergence of the Hitler-like Grindelwald.
Last November, Hollywood icon Johnny Depp resigned from the “Fantastic Beasts 3” series, in which he played the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, when Warner Bros. urged him to. Depp’s departure occurred after it was revealed that he had lost his libel action against The Sun, a British tabloid that published an article saying he was a “wife beater” in 2018.
Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, and Jessica Williams round out the cast.
The first two films in the franchise, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” in 2016 and “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” in 2018, were written by J.K. Rowling.
Steve Kloves, who worked on many of the original “Harry Potter” films, is co-writing the script for the third “Fantastic Beasts” film with Rowling.
