India logs 5,784 new Covid-19 cases, 252 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi, Dec.14: India has reported 5,784 new cases of Covid-19 virus which is the lowest in 571 days. With this, India’s COVID-19 tally has reached to 3,47,03,644. The number of active cases of the illness has decreased to 88,993, the lowest in 563 days, according to the Union health ministry.

According to the ministry’s data updated at 8 a.m., the number of deaths caused by the viral sickness has risen to 4,75,888, with 252 more deaths.

For the past 47 days, the number of new cases of coronavirus infection has remained below 15,000.

The number of active coronavirus cases in the country has dropped to 88,993, representing 0.26 percent of the total caseload and the lowest since March 2020, according to the ministry, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.37 percent, the highest since March 2020.

Over the course of 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload dropped by 2,463 cases.

The daily positive rate was 0.58 percent on average. For the past 71 days, it has been less than two percent.

The positivity rate for the week was 0.68 percent. According to the health ministry, it has been below 1% for the past 30 days.

The number of patients who have recovered from the infection has gone up to 3,41,38,763, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.37 per cent.

The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country so far has exceeded 133.88 crore.
