Police nab absconding millionaire fraudster of Jharkhand- Bihar in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, Dec 14: Dhanbad police nabbed Naushad Ahmed, the most wanted millionaire and suspected fraudster in Jharkhand – Bihar on Monday evening, who was hiding in a residence in Dhaiyya under Sadar police station.

According to authorities, Naushad had been absconding after defrauding individuals out of millions of rupees in the pretense of a Hajj pilgrimage. 58 FIRs have been filed against him in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Lohardaga, Dhanbad, and Giridih police stations.

After learning of Naushad’s arrest, Ranchi district’s Ormanjhi police arrived to take him on transit remand.

According to a police official, Ranchi Superintendent of Police (Rural) Naushad Alam informed the Saraidhela police station in Dhanbad about Naushad Ahmed’s whereabouts on Monday. Then in the evening, a team led by the officer-in-charge of the Saraidhela police station, Kishore Tirki, raided Ganesh Tower in Dhaiyya and detained him.

As per official information, Ormanjhi police had picked up Kabir, one of the accomplices of Naushad Ahmed from Rajganj locality of Dhanbad 10 days ago. On the basis of Kabir’s information, Ranchi police traced the location of Naushad’s hideout and got him arrested by the Dhanbad police.

Naushad Ahmed had been running a tour and travel service in Patna since 2014, defrauding people in the pretext of Hajj tours.

Ranchi police swung into action when he cheated Iftikar Ahmed, a resident of Irba under Ormanjhi police station of Ranchi, and his brother in –law Jainulabiddin in the name of Hajj visit and absconded with the money. The victims then filed an FIR against him at Ormanjhi police station on November 13, 2020.

He used the same conspiracy with several residents of Ranchi, Lohardaga, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Giridih districts and cheated more than Rs. 5 crores off different people.

Besides it, a case is also filed against Naushad in Govindpur police station of Dhanbad for capturing and selling the car of  a person named Jiyauddin Ansari, a resident of  Pathuria Sarkardih of Govindpur.
