Ranchi, Jan.1: With as many as 563 active cases of Covid-19 Jharkhand capital continues to maintain top position in corona positivity in the state, where the total number of active cases maintained at the figure of 1371 on the second consecutive day.
The Covid bulletin released this morning at 9.30am suggests that on December 31 only as many as 327 cases were detected in Ranchi followed by East Singhbhum (74), Koderma (63), and Dhanbad (61) besides other districts ranging between 0 to 49.
Health department officials said that it is the outcome of an increase in testing. “The more we test, the more we get. The district having a maximum number of positivity need not be worried and where no positive case has been detected should be happy,” a health department official said.
Though the number of positivity is the highest among all districts in Ranchi, enthusiasm for the New Year celebration is no less here. Since morning people were noticed busy observing new days in the way of their choices.
While a section of people preferred visiting Pahari Baba and other temples of the city, another section was noticed facing the shop of mutton and chicken. There were a few who were noticed at picnic spots ignoring the appeal of chief minister Hemant Soren to welcome the New Year in home isolation.
