Ranchi, Jan 12: Following the guidelines of the state, government schools in Ranchi have followed the protocols and continued the online classes to prepare for the upcoming annual, matriculate and intermediate examinations, which are expected to be announced by the next month.

A rough survey of government schools in Ranchi revealed that teachers have arrived in schools taking into account 50% occupancy to take the online class of the students.

Rajkiyakrit Hindi Balak Madhya Vidhyalaya’s assistant teacher Rekha Jaiswal said that online classes are being conducted on a daily basis. A time table has been prepared after having a discussion with parents and it has helped to engage a maximum number of students with the online class.

“Several parents complained that they have two children and only one phone which were addressed by changing the time of the classes. The change in timing has pushed the classes till 5 pm in the evening but still, teachers are taking the classes,” Jaiswal said.

Marwari High School Principal Ashish Kumar said that online classes are being continued by the teachers and the classes are going on smoothly.

Zila School Principal Dipa Choudhary said that online classes are being conducted on platforms like zoom and google meet and are running smoothly.

“We are constantly in touch with the students over WhatsApp and they are being told to study for their annual exams,” Choudhary said.

The Jharkhand Project Education Council (JPEC) on Tuesday issued several directives for conducting online classes.

JPEC director Kiran Pasi instructed the regional and district-level education officers to ensure that all teachers are linked to the Digi-SATH group, which provides study materials for Class I to XII every Friday. She said all teachers must send the study material to the students and a certificate of appreciation should be provided to those working well.
