Ramgarh, Jan 12: Ramgarh police have uncovered the murder mystery of Mahesh Bedia, the Mukhiya of Beecha Panchayat who was found dead recently by the locals.
Sahil Ansari, son of Ali Hussain, a resident Mahuatola, Bhadaninagar OP is an accused involved in the murder. He has been arrested and sent to jail by the police while efforts are on to nab two others.
According to the police, Mahesh Bedia was murdered by strangulation with wire around his neck. Afterwards, his body was thrown by the killers in the water of the closed Pokharia mine of CCL Saunda D.
Ramgarh SP said in a press conference on Wednesday that the Mukhiya was murdered over a transaction in the construction of toilets. Some amount of Sahil’s money was left with the Mukhiya. Mahesh had stopped the payment of money for the high-level investigation of the scam in the construction of toilets.
Sahil Ansari was continuously pressurizing him to give his money. On the evening of January 9, Sahil Ansari and his two nephews took Mahesh Bedia to a place near their village. After a brief dispute, Mukhiya was killed by strangling him with a wire. Then the body was thrown into the closed Pokharia mine.
SP Prabhat Kumar said that the matter is very serious. It will be fully investigated. The wire used in the incident, the bike of the Mukhiya’s and the bike used by the accused have been recovered by the police.
