Dumka police recover body of tribal girl in Shikaripara

Dumka, Jan 13: Police have recovered the dead body of a 25 years old girl from Hasapathar village under Shikaripara police station Dumka district this morning. The girl has been allegedly crushed to death with stone.

The deceased has been identified as Basmati Hembrom whose dead body was found lying in a pool of blood at some distance from her home as the villagers started their routine activities in the morning.

Bajun Kisku, the father of the deceased girl, has said that he along with his wife were away from home last night. Basmati was staying with her grandmother at home when someone called her over the phone.

“Basmati however did not return and was found dead in the morning at some distance from the home” the father has stated to the police.

Police have also recovered a stone with blood stains which is believed to have been used by the culprit to crush her to death.

Police investigation is on to identify the culprits and the motive behind the crime. The body was sent to the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
