Ranchi, Jan.14: Independent legislator Saryu Roy asked the chief secretary to reduce the fee of RT-PCR test being fixed for private laboratories.

At present Rs 400 is charged for the test and Rs 200 is charged for home collection. Roy in the wake of reduction of price of testing kit has asked him to reduce testing charge by Rs 100. Regarding home collection charge he suggests collecting only Rs 200 in case at one location the number of samples is more than one. He also asked the chief secretary to even consider reducing the home collection charge by Rs 100.

Roy said it is necessary in the interest of stopping the spread of omicron virus which is more infectious and several from one family gets infected at a time and creates an additional financial burden for a family who want to go for testing.
