New Delhi, Jan 19: India reported 2,82,970 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with a daily positivity rate of 15.13 per cent, informed the Union Ministry of Health on Wednesday morning.
The newly reported cases are around 2,369 more than the day before. On Tuesday country logged 2,38,018 fresh cases. With this, the country’s total cases rose to 3,79,01,241 including 18,31,000 active cases.
India also registers 441 deaths due to the infection over the past 24 hours. As many as 4,87,202 people succumbed to the infection so far. With 1,88,157 recoveries over the past 24 hours, the total number of recoveries in the country reaches to 3,55,83,039.
Meanwhile, Country’s Omicron tally reaches to 8,961. Under the nationwide covid-19 vaccination drive, over 1,58,88,47,554 doses have been administered so far in the country. A total of 18,69,642 samples were tested over the past 24 hours. So far a total of 70.74 crore samples have been tested, said the Ministry of Health.
